The Dafne necklace does not add volume: it creates it through the fold.
A fabric tube is covered with a copper mesh sleeve and pleated along its whole length. The surface ripples and gains volume as it folds back on itself. Each pleat is irregular, different from the one before.
The copper holds the shape given to it by the making process and preserves its movement over time.
The name recalls Daphne, the nymph of myth transformed into a laurel tree. Here too, the metamorphosis changes the appearance, not what lies beneath: the tube stays the same, while the surface takes on a new form.
It can be worn long or wrapped twice — 110 centimetres and 54 grams of soft volume. Handmade in Italy, Dafne is a necklace that changes shape with a gesture.

Copper fabric

Metal threads woven like a fabric: light, pliable, it holds its shape on its own.

How to wear it. Keep it away from water, perfume and creams: wet copper darkens. If it gets squashed, reshape it gently with your fingers, without pulling single threads.
How to clean it. For dust, a soft, dry brush. No water or detergents.
How to store it. Laid in its box, with nothing on top and away from other jewellery: the threads can catch.

How to wear it. Put it on last, after creams, perfume and hairspray. Take it off before showering, swimming in the sea or pool, exercising and going to bed.
How to clean it. When you take it off, wipe it with a soft, dry cloth: a few seconds are enough.
How to store it. Keep it in its box, in a dry drawer, away from your other jewellery. The bathroom, with its steam, is the least suitable place.

Worn long, it falls onto the torso; wrapped twice, it sits at the neck: two ways with the same piece, and a single gesture is enough to switch. The ripples keep their shape even with wear. The copper catches the light in small glints, never reflecting all of it. On a black dress or a white shirt, it is enough on its own.

Dafne is born from the meeting of fabric and copper: 110 centimetres long, 54 grams.

The copper is worked into an extremely fine mesh that covers the fabric tube. Flexible during working, it retains the fold given by the pleating and allows the ripples to keep their form and volume over time.

The fabric beneath gives body and softness to the necklace and separates the metal mesh from the skin. The weave of the copper breaks up the reflection: light surfaces in small touches, following the ripples of the surface. The colour remains intense even in the shaded areas.
