Accessibility statement

We want everyone to be able to discover, choose and give an Ellesanti piece, including people with a disability or using assistive technology. This statement tells you where we stand, what we are still checking and how to write to us if something does not work.

01What it covers

This statement covers www.ellesanti.com, in Italian and English: product pages, categories, search, the bag, the gift card, the help pages and the pages The method and The Space.

Ellesanti is a micro-enterprise and is not bound by Italian Legislative Decree no. 82 of 27 May 2022, which transposes Directive (EU) 2019/882 on the accessibility of products and services (European Accessibility Act). This statement is a voluntary choice: as a reference we still follow the decree and the guidelines of the Agency for Digital Italy (AgID).

02Compliance status

The site is partially compliant with the European standard EN 301 549 (version 3.2.1), which for websites refers to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at level AA. Our goal is full compliance at level AA, including WCAG version 2.2.

“Partially compliant” means that the site meets the requirements we have checked, but some tests, listed below, are not yet complete.

03What we are still checking

In our checks there are no known problems left on the site’s pages. Before declaring full compliance we are completing the test with screen readers (VoiceOver and NVDA) and the review of the third-party services listed below.

On 2 October 2026 we fixed: form field borders, sections that open and close, image descriptions, the contrast of “How a piece is made”, the row of photos on the product page, the keyboard order of the menu, a button to stop content that moves on its own and some attributes read by screen readers.

04Content from other providers

Some parts of the site are services from other companies that we do not control directly: payment (Shopify checkout), the Shopify cookie banner, Judge.me reviews, the Instagram feed on the homepage (it stops with the “Pause the photos” button), the wishlist, the hCaptcha anti-spam check in forms, the Google Maps map and WhatsApp. When we find a problem in one of these services we report it to the provider and, where possible, choose the most accessible setting.

05The service and how it works

On www.ellesanti.com you will find Ellesanti jewellery, handmade in Italy: necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings. You can browse by type, by the moment you are living, by the phrase you want to give, or use the search.

Each product page shows photos, price, materials, colours and sizes, the size guides and information on making, shipping and returns. Choose colour and size, add the piece to your bag and pay on Shopify’s secure checkout, by card, PayPal or bank transfer. You can also give a digital gift card, sent by email to you or to the person you choose.

For a return there is the “Request a return” form; for any question you can write to us, call us or visit our Space in Padua.

06How we make the site accessible

• The whole site can be used with the keyboard; at the top of every page there is a “Skip to content” link.
• The active element is always marked by an outline, black on light backgrounds and white on dark ones.
• Every page has a title, a single main heading and section headings in order; header, menus, content and footer are recognisable by screen readers.
• Product photos have a description (the piece, the colour, whether it is worn).
• Text has a contrast of at least 4.5:1 with the background; field and control borders at least 3:1.
• The content of closed sections (FAQ, product details) cannot be reached with the keyboard until you open it.
• The site can be read at up to 400% zoom and on screens 320 pixels wide without scrolling sideways.
• Everything that moves on its own has a button to stop it: the method video, the message bar at the top, the museum logo strip and the Instagram photos; if “reduce motion” is on in your device, the site’s animations stop.
• Menus, quick look and size guides open and close with the keyboard (including Esc); from an open menu the Tab key moves into its items and, in dialogs, the focus stays inside and returns where you were when they close.
• Colours and sizes are buttons with the name written, not just a colour.
• Forms have visible labels, mark required fields, show the error next to the field, linked to the field itself, and have it read by screen readers; name, email and phone can be filled in automatically.
• Changes in the bag and in filters are announced to screen readers.
• The language of each page is declared (Italian or English).
• We do not use “overlay” tools that alter the site and we do not collect data on the assistive technology you use.

07How we checked

This is a self-assessment, carried out on 2 October 2026 by CTRL+G, the studio that looks after the site, on 21 representative pages on desktop (1440 pixels), mobile (375 and 320 pixels) and tablet: automated testing with axe-core 4.10 and manual checks of keyboard, focus, contrast, zoom, text spacing, motion, forms and error messages.

We review this statement at least once a year and whenever the site changes significantly. Next review: by October 2027.
